I have been specialising in the area of Women’s Health since 2006 and have experience treating a wide range of musculo-skeletal  and pelvic floor conditions in both the female and male population. I treat individuals with sport injuries,  Pelvic Girdle Dysfunction, Sacro-iliac joint issues, Neck Pain, Low Back Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Coccyx Pain, Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Diastasis Recti Abdominis and any Pelvic Floor Dysfunction such as Urinary/Faecal Incontinence, pain after delivery and Dyspareunia.

With no clear plans for my physiotherapy path, I fell into the role as Senior physiotherapist in the Maternity Hospital in Limerick when I returned to work after my first maternity leave in 2006. I took this role because the commute to my childminder’s house was shorter! What followed were the best working years of my life as I loved every minute of being immersed in pregnancy stories, teaching and treating women who were going through the same stage of life as I was.

I am passionate about women’s health and have been lucky to work in the area of Women’s Health while I was having my own family. I had my four bumps and babies in the hospital where I worked and have had the priviledge to have met thousands of pregnant and postnatal women along the way, as well as work with some amazing professionals in the Limerick University Maternity hospital. I moved into private practice in 2013 after my fourth child was born to allow a more flexible working week and found that it also allowed me to expand my practice.

The most rewarding part of my day is when I hear people say ” I’m so relieved” or ” I was so worried coming in”  as they leave their assessment sessions armed with reassurance, information and a plan. Knowing what is going on, being able to address issues and having a clear plan of action is empowering for everyone and that is my aim for every treatment session. I liaise with GP’s and other professionals as needed so while I work alone I am supported by wide local network when I need it.

Please be in touch with any queries; I have experience with all areas of women’s health and am happy to refer onwards if there is extra specialised help you need at any point.
