“I must be right. Never an aspirin. Never injured a day in my life. The whole country, the whole world, should be doing my exercises. They’d be happier.”
Joseph Hubertus Pilates, in 1965, age 86.

Isn’t that the dream!!

This class is designed to be a fast-paced but thorough Pilates class that targets the deep core muscles and the larger muscles to give you an all-over challenge. You necessarily need to have done Pilates before as I go through technique during every class and keep an eye on everyone, but you need to be up for it! This class is challenging but really enjoyable and the hour flies by ( in my opinion anyway!!) All my classes are held in Cratloe Community Hall which is about ten minutes from Coonagh ( Tesco) and 20 minutes from Ennis.

The class starts with a warm up and focuses on activation of the deep core muscles in conjunction with strengthening of the larger muscles groups. It covers strengthening, stretching, co-ordination and balance of the following muscle groups: Quads, Hamstrings, Gluts, Calf muscles, Upper Back, Chest, Lower back, Pelvic floor, Deep Neck flexors and feet. So it covers injury prevention and treatment of any muscle dysfunction or imbalance you can think of! It also acts as an assessment: you might be surprised to find out that single-leg bridge on one side is way harder than the other side, and that your gluts on that side are in pain when you multi-rep glut medius. You’ll find out a lot about yourself during the class and there’s your motivation to balance out the imbalances!

Performance Pilates is held on Wednesday  at 7.30 to 8.30pm. There is a beginner level class at 6.30pm if you would like to get familiar with the moves before you take on the higher intensity but you can still be a fit beginner to attend! You can pay as you go for ten euro per class, and you do not need to book in. If you have specific needs or a specific injury, you may wish to have an individual assessment or treatment first. Give me a shout if you have any queries about the class on 087 2524225.
